American Armed Forces Executes Deadly Attack in Pacific, Leading to Four Fatalities

As stated by a high-ranking military spokesperson, the US military executed a lethal strike on a boat in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in the deaths of four people.

“A US joint task force carried out a deadly attack on a craft operated by a terrorist group in open sea. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route and was engaged in illicit drug transport. A total of four male narco-terrorists were eliminated, and no American forces were harmed.”

Background and Recent Actions

The statement comes a day after a declaration regarding a blockade of all targeted oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela. That statement on online platforms, the American leader accused Venezuela of using oil revenues to fund narcotics smuggling and criminal activities, pledging to increase the military presence.

Only on Tuesday, US defense officials said it had conducted strikes on three boats suspected of smuggling narcotics in the Pacific, leading to the deaths of eight people. Since 2 September, over 20 military engagements have resulted in the deaths of at least 99 people, the majority off the coast of Venezuela.

Administration Justifies Actions Amidst Pressure

The administration has encountered growing pressure to make public video of a 2 September vessel attack. But, the defense secretary have declined to do so. The administration has supported its campaign as a successful operation, saying it has stopped drugs from entering US shores and has dismissed concerns that it is exceeding the limits of legal military action.

While the administration has said the operation is about stopping drugs headed to the US, comments from a senior aide appeared to suggest a broader geopolitical objective. In a recently published interview, the senior advisor remarked the leader “aims to keep on destroying vessels until Venezuela's president surrenders or concedes.”

This indicates the military campaign may be linked to a strategy to remove Venezuela's sitting government.
