Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of the last two tournaments this season as a result of a medical condition she has been battling in recent days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but chose to travel back to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
