Ex- Physician Accused of Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
