Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
