'I'm getting constant stick' over the series concluding ahead of my trip.

England supporters down under

Beautiful weather, classic snacks and legendary venues - what more could an England cricket fan possibly want?

Realistically, they'd hope for an contest for the urn in Australia where they still have a chance to reclaim the urn after the first three Tests.

That will not be happening this time, though, after a comprehensive 82-run win in Adelaide gave Australia 3-0 up for the fourth straight contest on Australian grounds.

The loyal traveling fans, the vocal contingent, have thousands of supporters making the journey for the last two matches in Sydney and Melbourne.

There are also travel parties who will be vacationing in Australia, as well as relatives and companions planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The Ryding Siblings

A group of four supporters are among those affected.

The four siblings had their itineraries and entry credentials booked for the Boxing Day and New Year Tests "well ahead of time", hoping to witness a long-awaited triumph.

Sadly, they've observed Australia outplay the visitors in just a short period from their house in the north of England.

"Everyone at work has been giving me grief that the series is done for the last two weeks," said Sam.

"The hope was that we would have a meaningful contest upon our arrival."

Fading Positivity

There was plenty of positivity about England's chances of ending their 15-year wait for a victory down under prior to the first ball.

However, the situation is now facing the prospect of extending their winless run in the country to 19 matches when the Boxing Day Test begins in the MCG on Christmas Day.

The England team - and their followers - will be hoping to sidestep a dreaded 5-0 scoreline.

Alex said the "excitement and fun" of head coach the aggressive 'Bazball' approach in recent times had "brought fresh energy to" the five-day game for English supporters.

Yet the fans said they had realistic outlooks for the fourth and fifth Tests - and all they are hoping for from the players is "a bit of fight".

"All analysts alludes to it, but it all hinges on fortitude. 'Bazball' has been become a phrase now that is just, like, impractical batting," stated Rory Ryding.

"Over the course of five days, you should apply yourself. Wafting outside 'sixth stump' areas has never been in the fundamentals, and that is primarily due to the top order."

Looking Ahead

Asked whether he believed England will triumph in a Test in this contest, one fan responded: "It looks like the Aussies are just too good at the moment."

"There is going to have to be more than one player that makes a significant contribution and turns the game."

Despite the scoreline, the siblings are still anticipating the trip.

"It will be a wonderful trip nonetheless," commented Katie Ryding. "We must adopt that mindset."

"Obviously it is a let-down we aren't fighting for more, but we have invested a significant amount already."

"We'll enjoy having Christmas and New Year out there. Additionally, it's our first experience traveling at this time of year."

An educator, Katie is determined to make the most of the 21,000-mile round-trip as part of her time off.

"Should the cricket disappoint, there's always golf to rely on," she added.
