Netflix Chooses Perfect Actor for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Third Season

Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the real showdown isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has just been cast.

Netflix announced recently that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Mr. 2. The role has the ability to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their main hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the live-action show, as in the source material and anime.

Escola will work alongside multiple fresh additions set to bring the organization to reality, such as head Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who is also part of the ensemble as the ruler of Alabasta.

Although the role is a major member of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. With the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this represents a notable change in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the character. Along with their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
