Nearly twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the state, generating wind gusts hitting 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Locals observed large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.

Emergency response teams responded to 598 calls for help across the region, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the current weather patterns.
