NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage includes live text for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six of the NFL season , following recent discussion regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking during those contests was the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments so they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the final quarter versus Denver, who play overseas this weekend.
However it was positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie managed to overcome that deficit and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.
The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.
They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending extra defenders but they might position two LBs in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.
Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program that Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished last season well then did a good job of building upon that.
Could Denver be this year's underdog story?
New tight end Evan Engram has excelled significantly while recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth league-wide in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.
That shows how the Broncos represent a team that wants to run first, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable situations.
It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to throw all over, however they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he's highly agile.
His strengths include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, and using varied release points to make the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.
When you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence must cover the area downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.
The quarterback has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for him to coach a rookie QB who's similar to play-dough. The coach can really build something up the way he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for him.
Payton has won a championship and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the achievements Denver are having on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids shape him into who he is.
You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you through difficult moments and boost confidence.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're working above average, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need to do is maintain this path.
They excel at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.
New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.
Ever since the NFL started recording takeaways decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the West.
This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet since Denver {beat|def
